By supporting initiatives that are in line with the mindset advocated by Le Brasilia, the foundation is also paying tribute to the creators of the campsite, René and Simone Pla. Leading many initiatives for protecting the countryside is also a means of creating an eco-responsible work environment, for all colleagues and seasonal workers working on the Le Brasilia campsite. Not forgetting the holidaymakers, who are all as sensitive to looking out for Man and nature, and for whom these initiatives make sense.
Founded upon respect for the values which have contributed to building Le Brasilia’s reputation and to making it known, one of the foundation’s other objectives is to perpetuate the campsite’s economic activity, by making it safe from buy-back by financial groups. The Le Brasilia campsite will thus be able to make the spirit of sharing and respect for traditions endure. It is is this that has been the company’s driving force for so many years.

The power to act
To carry out its initiatives oriented towards the environment and Man, the PLA FAMILY Foundation is committed to various projects, the essence of which rests upon three main concerns:
-
Help
Concerning children’s aid charities (Secours Catholique, Secours populaire, …), one of the main missions of the foundation is to facilitate access to holidays for underprivileged children.
-
Preservation
In connection with other environmental players, the “PLA FAMILY Foundation” supports the town of Canet en Roussillon and participates jointly in protecting its heritage, such as the Château Vicomtal Saint-Pierre de Fenouillet, the fishing village or even certain communal buildings.
-
Protection
The protection of the coastline of the urban community from Le Barcarès to Canet en Roussillon is essential for the foundation. The main intention being to preserve the coastline but also the dune ridge.
Together,
we will go further
Presided over by Roger Pla, the Board of Directors is now comprised of 9 members coming from various spheres, such as Bernard Dupont the Mayor of Canet en Roussillon from 2010 to 2020 and the Director of Municipal Services in the town for 20 years. There is even Patrick Fournier, a retired branch manager of the Banque Populaire bank. To strengthen this skilled team, Roger Pla has been able to rely upon Marc Benassis, a wine grower and the Deputy Mayor of Canet en Roussillon. In addition Marc Justafre, the Priest and Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Perpignan, Elne and Perrine Latour, respectively a chartered accountant and the Director of the Altus Communication agency. To end, the current elected members of the Canet en Roussillon Town Council, the Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole and the departmental council complete the ranks of members.
This eclectic group is fully decision-making as to the foundation’s initiatives. It meets at least twice a year, so as to determine the initiatives to implement for the coming months/years. The Board of Directors also determines the budget. It is the guarantor of the fundamental facets upon which the ”PLA FAMILY Foundation” is built.
To date, the foundation’s resources come mainly from dividends declared by the Le Brasilia campsite.
